Many television watchers will be acquainted with the channel Country Music Television (CMT). CMT was the first American country music-oriented cable television network. What many of those observers may not be aware of is the technological innovation and business planning that went into making this channel a reality.
Prior to the station’s official launch on March 5, 1983 at 6:19 PM CST, Mr. Corazzi and his partners and the father and son duo of G. Dean Daniels, Jr. and Glenn D. Daniels, Sr. had been brainstorming the idea between themselves for several years they knew exactly what they needed in terms of both finance and expertise to get the project off the ground. It was Joseph Corazzi’s experience in the satellite communications field and his financing that would ultimately be the lynch pin in the whole operation. Prior to that time Mr. Corazzi had had incredible success in the satellite television industry by pioneering the first installation of 24-hour satellite television entertainment for hotel customers. With his help CMT got off the ground and has been a success ever since.
